Interlecta and AirTel – Cellmania

Interlecta is now available for cell phone users in India after a period of business negotiations with the biggest wireless carrier in the country AirTel.
100M users will be able to download and activate a new Interlecta Translator for J2ME handsets. The service is free for download and activation only for a limited period of time and is only available for AirTel clients through AirTel – Cellmania. All who download during this period get a year free of subsection fee.
This new application translates text typed on the screen of the mobile phone which can be sent as SMS. An active internet connection is needed in order for the Translator to be downloaded and used. The Interlecta Translator can be downloaded from http://airtel.cellmania.com by opening this link through a mobile phone only, searching for key word “translate” and get a year subscription free of charge.

Some of the new languages that have been added for AirTel users include Africaans, Belorussian, Galilean, Yiddish, Irish, Icelandic, Macedonian, Malay, Farsi, Swahili, Tagalog, and Welsh (Cymraeg).
