FAQ - App World

I only see blocks/boxes instead of letters.

The reason you only see blocks/boxes is that you do not have the needed fonts on your BlackBerry.

If you just want to send the translated text as SMS or email, you can be sure that the recipient will be able to see the letters although you only see blocks. If you want to see the translated text and need the fonts, then you should contact your wireless carrier or BlackBerry reseller and they will help you with this.

How do I remove the application?

To remove the application you need to go to Options/Settings of the BB->Advanced options->Applications-> then choose the name of the application you want to remove. Have in mind that you may need to restart your BlackBerry.

Is it a free application?

We currently offer the Interlecta Translator for BlackBerry free of charge for App World users only for a limited period of time. After the end of the free DOWNLOAD period users will need to pay a small subscription fee in order to download and use the application. Users who have downloaded BEFORE the end of the “free download period” will not pay a subscription fee during the first year.

Will I pay additional charges if I use the application in roaming?

The charges you will pay in roaming depend on your service plan. Your wireless carrier may charge you for the generated internet traffic. We do not take any additional fee or charge for using the application in roaming.

What languages does the BlackBerry translator support?

The best way to see the available languages is to download the application. We constantly add new languages and remove those with the quality of which we are not satisfied.

Do you have a translator for PC and what is the cost?

You can have a look at our website to see the range of our products.

Where can I find the application once it has been downloaded on the BlackBerry?

You can find Interlecta Translator either in folder Applications of the BlackBerry or in folder Downloads. Interlecta options have been integrated in the menus of the BlackBerry so you can also find it in the options when you want to translate your SMS or email.

I send a message in another language but the other party does not understand a word.

Please note that this is machine translation. This means that the input text must be as accurate as possible. No spelling and grammar mistakes are recommended, and no slang - a computer can't "guess" what a user could mean. Also, avoid shortening the words (like "trans" for "translate", "rcv" for "receive", "10x" for "thanks") and don't forget to write the commas and stops at the end of each sentence.
